Open Letter to Robert Vadra

Dear Shri Robert Vadra ji,
I know you’re in the news for corruption and tax evasion charges, but don’t let that bog you down. You are bigger than that, and we are with you. And of course, there’s the union cabinet to take care of that. Salman hai na? [I am guessing that in the inner party circles, he goes as son-in-law minister. Hee hee.]
But on a serious note, you are such an inspiration, man.
You know how everybody has their life-changing moments? Buddha had it below than Banyan tree. Newton had it when that apple fell on his head. Poonam Pandey when she realized her best talent was taking her clothes off. Similarly, mine was when i saw a sign at the airport listing out the most important people in India, the ones exempted from getting their balls cupped by CISF officers.
President. Prime Minister. Cabinet Ministers. Chief Justice. Shri Robert Vadra.
Man, this must be an order of magnitude bigger than getting AIR 1 in IITJEE, 100 percentile in CAT and topping the civil services exam. In the same year. Mumma must be so proud.
Dude, you’re such a rockstar. And i felt important when Continental airlines sent me a one-time pass to the premium lounge. What a loser.
But i guess you were destined for greatness. Your mom was of Scottish origin, and dad an Indian. Always the mark of a great man to marry a foreigner, and i guess it also fit into the whole Gandhi family theme. But clearly, if there’s one thing you did well, it was getting married to Priyanka ji. Very nice lady she is, tall, charismatic, short hair and all that.
While most Indian men dream of marrying a woman who can get them a crore in dowry, you went long. And how. Good job there.
Don’t get me wrong, i am not like those stupid BJP walas, ranting against you. I truly adore you man. Your journey is going to inspire men and women for many centuries.
I mean, you got the airport frisking exemption even before the chiefs of our defense services. That is so FREAKING AWESOME.
Of course, you are not all about being the first-son-in-law of the country. There’s more to you. Like spending time in the gym to give a complex to Salman and Hrithik. You’re forty and have a six pack of abs. I am 32 and my lungs turn into the Agni missile if i dare run a kilometer. You already have a mustache. I say you should shoot for the lead role in Dabangg 2.
Oh, and i love your 1800cc motorcycle. Even my car doesn’t have that many CCs. But then, the national jamai has to live in style, so it is cool. Kitna deti hai, btw?
There’s so much to you. I think you are doing a great job of removing gender stereotypes that crappy shows like Balika Vadhu are creating. There the bahus spend their time cooking, looking good and taking care of the family name. Here, you are making sure you look good, while taking care of the family name. This is just so sweet. I would do chubby cheeks to you, if i could.
Along the way, you’ve also built yourself a business empire. Stakes in hotels, apartments all over the place, everything totaling hundreds of crores. Excellent example for unmarried budding entrepreneurs. Just one suggestion – you should consider putting up those apartments for rent. Some supplemental income never hurts.
Awesome, man. Awesome. Very impressive.
Achha, one last thing. I hear you got a 10,000 square feet apartment in Gurgaon for 89 lakh. Boss, this is god-level bargaining skills. How did you manage? When i tried, they wouldn’t sell me an apartment a tenth of that size for that much. Can you please help getting that discount? Perhaps if we find ten other people, DLF might even give us a group discount and make it even cheaper.
Chalo boss, that’s it for now. Take care, keep rocking, and don’t worry about Kejriwal, the BJP, or Indian people. We forgot about Bofors, we’ve forgotten CWG, we’ve forgotten 2G, we’ll forget Coal G, we’ll forget JIJA JI as well.

Robert Vadra net worth

Overnight multi-billionaire Robert Vadra has an estimated net worth of a staggering $2.1 Billion. The 42 year old gained his net worth after his marriage to Indian politician Priyanka Gandhi. Vadra met Priyanka Gandhi at a mutual friend’s house and in 1997, they were married making Vadra a part of the most powerful family in India. Together they have two children, Raihan and Miraya. Despite marrying a family with a strong history of politics, Vadra does not interfere with any policy making, insisting that he’s a businessman and his only focus is Artex, a small company that specialise in jewellery exports.
There were growing speculations over the way Vadra acquired his earnings, as he gained his billions literally overnight. In 2008, the small time exporter of artificial jewellery made a low key entry into the real estate industry in partnership with Indian’s largest property firm, DLF Ltd. Vadra started spreading to other business ventures, by buying up land in Haryana and Rajasthan as well as owning 50 per cent share of a leading hotel company in Delhi. The New-Delhi entrepreneur is now attempting to break the chartering aircraft industry.
Since then, Vadra appeared to have his fingers in even more business pies. Vadra is also the sole owner of Sky Light Hospitality Pvt Ltd, having his mother Maureen as a partner. Furthermore he owns 20 per cent of Unitech, which was in the centre of the high profile 2G spectrum scam. As Robert was involved in the scam, there are concerns from the Indian citizens that the investigation will never come to a definite conclusion.
As Vadra gained his billions, he had to deal with three family tragedies: His sister, Michelle, died in a car accident in 2001; his older brother, Richard, was found dead in at his home in 2003 and his father Rajinder hanged himself in 2009. It was reported that Rajinder disowned his son (Robert) after he married Priyanka Gandhi.

The Underachiever issue:TIME Vs OUTLOOK

Time magazine has termed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh an "underachiever", flaying him for not acting decisively when the country's economy was slowing.
The magazine features the Indian prime minister on the cover of its Asia edition dated July 16, 2012.
With 79-year old Manmohan Singh's portrait on the cover page, the blurb reads: "The Underachiever. India needs a reboot. Is Prime Minister Manmohan Singh up to the job?"
The cover story titled "A Man in Shadow" flays the prime minister and his government for failing to act when the country's economic growth was slowing down.
India's economic growth slumped to nine-year low of 5.3 percent in the quarter ended March 31, 2012. The gross domestic product (GDP) growth fell to 6.5 percent in 2011-12 as compared to 8.4 percent in the previous year.
"Investors at home and abroad are beginning to get cold feet. Voters too are losing confidence, as rising inflation and a litany of scandals chip away at the government's credibility," said the magazine, which will be in the market next week.
The magazine on its cover photo of Obama has a blurb that says: “America needed a reboot he promised hope and change. Four years on, President Barack Obama’s sheen is gone. Can his lofty rhetoric carry him home again?”
Manmohan Singh has come under some serious criticism for his inability to fast track India's growth story.
But today, Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata has come out in strong defence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, saying the architect of 1991 reforms should not be singled out for the country's current economic woes.
"Attacks on the architect of 1991 reforms which brought us prosperity is sad and unfortunate. It's wrong to single out the PM for inflation, low investment confidence and slow growth," Tata said on social networking site twitter.
Recently, in an article, the Time magazine termed Manmohan Singh as an underachiever.

The cover story, titled "A Man in Shadow", says the prime minister appears "unwilling to stick his neck out" on reforms that will put the country back on growth path.
The article says: "Investors at home and abroad are beginning to get cold feet. Voters too are losing confidence, as rising inflation and a litany of scandals chip away at the government's credibility."
The magazine says that Singh, who has been accused of "policy paralysis" by the opposition, "seems unable to control his ministers and - his new, temporary portfolio at the finance ministry notwithstanding - unwilling to stick his neck out on reforms that will continue the process of liberalisation he helped start."

Mahatma Gandhi: Little known facts most of us don’t know about him

We would like to share some little known facts about him which most of us don’t know about gandhiji..
(1) He had a set of false teeth, which he carried in a fold of his loin cloth. He put them in his mouth only when he wanted to eat. After his meal, he took them out, washed them and put them back in his loin cloth again.
(2) Mahatma Gandhi spoke English with an Irish accent, for one of his first teachers was an Irishman.
(3) During the freedom struggle, he wore nothing but a loin cloth , but for years he lived in London and used to wear a silk hat and spats and carried a cane.
(4) He was educated at London University and became an attorney. But the first time he attempted to make a speech in court, his knees trembled, and he was so frightened that he had to sit down in confusion and defeat.
(5) As a lawyer in London, he got nowhere at all. He was practically a failure there. Years before, when he first came to England, his Irish teacher made him copy the Sermon on the Mount, over and over again, purely as an exercise in English. Hour after hour, Gandhi wrote “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. . . . Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God,” and these words made a profound impression on him.
(6) Later, he was sent to South Africa to collect some huge debts; and he tried to apply there the philosophy of the Sermon on the Mount. And it worked. Clients flocked to Gandhi because he settled their claims peacefully out of court and saved them time and expense.
(7) His income during those days in South Africa touched fifteen thousand dollars a year! Something still a dream for most Indians !
(8) However, despite this worldly success he was not happy. On seeing the untold misery of millions of his fellow countrymen; on seeing thousand of them dying of starvation; the worldly success seemed cheap and unimportant to him. He gave up all his money and ‘took the vow of poverty, and since that time, he consecrated his life to helping the poor and the downtrodden.
(9) On seeing the hopeless condition of one tenth of India which was living in a hungry and half-starved state, Mahatma Gandhi pleaded with them to cease bringing children into a world filled with so much misery and want.
(10) Mahatma Gandhi experimented with diets to see how cheaply he could live and remain healthy. He started living principally on fruit and goats’ milk and olive oil.
(11) Mahatma Gandhi got inspiration of Civil Disobedience by reading a book of an American ! He had been greatly influenced by the teachings of an American by the name of David Thoreau. Thoreau was graduated from Harvard University ninety years ago, and then spent twenty-eight dollars building a cabin for himself on the lonely shores of Walden Pond, in Massachusetts. He lived there like a hermit, and refused to pay taxes; so he was thrown into jail. He then wrote a book on Civil Disobedience, saying that no one ought to pay taxes. People didn’t pay the slightest attention to his book then; but, seventy-five years later, Gandhi read that book, away out in India, and decided to use Thoreau’s tactics. He felt that England had not kept her promise to give India self-government; so, in order to punish England, Gandhi urged the people of India to go to jail rather than pay taxes, and he also urged his followers to boycott English goods. When the British placed a tax on salt, Gandhi led his follower to the sea and they made their own salt.
(12) Mahatma Gandhi never visited the US, but he had many American fans and followers. One of his more unusual admirers was Henry Ford. Gandhi sent him an autographed charkha (spinning wheel) through a journalist emissary. During the darkest days of the Second World War, Ford, who was struck by the charkha’s “mechanical simplicity and high moral purpose,” would often spin on “the symbol of economic independence that Gandhi had sent.
(12) Mahatma Gandhi inspired millions of people world over to take the path of non-violence and civil disobedience. 5 world leaders who got Noble Peace prize viz. Martin Luther King Jr. (USA), Dalai Lama (Tibet), Aung San Suu Kyi (Myanmar), Nelson Mandela (S. Africa) and Adolfo Perez Esquivel (Argentina) have acknowledged the fact that they were influenced by the philosophy of Gandhi. Yet, Mahatma Gandhi; the man who inspired these Nobel Peace Prize winners, never got a Noble Prize !
I think it is a loss for the Noble – the prize; not for Gandhi – the man who is above all prizes.
(13) The great Scientist Albert Einstein once said about Gandhi :
“Generations to come will scarcely believe that such a one as this (Gandhi) walked the earth in flesh and blood.”
He also once said,
” I believe that Gandhi’s views were the most enlightened of all the political men in our time. We should strive to do things in his spirit: not to use violence in fighting for our cause, but by non-participation in anything you believe is evil.”
The more I read about Gandhi, the more I become humble to the greatness of this man who was seeking nothing for himself but was willing to die in order that others may live.
